HDL is proud to announce that its automation solutions will be utilized in the new NATO Headquarters.
Located in Brussels, the new headquarters will provide space for 28 embassies, 1,550 delegates, 2,500 staff, and cater to 500 daily visitors.
The project which is scheduled to be completed in 2016, is intended to provide NATO with a modern flexible building, which can be expanded with ease should the need arise.
According to the NATO, the building has been designed to;
“Reduce the NATO headquarters’ environmental impact by using recycled demolition materials, green roofs, integrating into Brussels’ broader urban planning, effective water management and reduced travel needs by staff using video teleconferences.”
This commitment to energy efficiency extends to all levels of the buildings construction, and is one of the key reasons that HDL was requested to install HDL KNX solutions.
Thanks to HDL NATO headquarters can reduce its energy consumption, through activating devices, appliances, and lighting on an on-demand basis.
